Mo and Mary is a Finnish electronica duo started at March 2010. Mo is the man behind the computer, Mary is a soulful vocalist. Mary has a long and passionate relation to singing. Mary composes and writes her own multi-dimensional lyrics – a lyricist by nature. She finds the everyday life inspiring, finding the depth and passion in the feelings touching everyone. She takes her influences from Afro-American music, most close to her are soul, reggae and jazz. She also is conscious of the trends in modern dance music, she can sing a variety of genres and styles. Mo is a dark soul. Melancholy and heaviness are the key elements in his expression, although you may call his style plentiful and rich. Mo composes the tracks drawing his influences from the likes of Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath, Human League, Orbital and Nine Inch Nails. His musical taste is classic, not so up to date. Together Mo and Mary make a perfect match. Beauty, bittersweet taste of life and passion for music. The Finnish soul, maybe not in the most traditional form but in its richness and variety. You can hear the beat of Helsinki and the calm of the Ostrobothnian countryside, both very creative environments. The music is therapeutic, spontaneous, down-to-earth and easy to approach.
